What is a wa.me link?
It is WhatsApp's own click-to-chat link. Anyone who taps it gets a chat with your number open straight away, on their phone or on WhatsApp Web, without saving you as a contact first.
How do I write my number in the link?
In full international format with digits only: country code first, then the number, with no plus sign, spaces, dashes or brackets, and without the leading 0 you dial at home. A UK number 07911 123456 becomes 447911123456. This generator does that for you.
Why does my WhatsApp link not work?
The usual causes are a leading 0 left in the number, the country code typed twice, or a number that isn't registered on WhatsApp. Use the "Test it" button before you print or share the link.
Can I add a message to the link?
Yes. The message is added to the link and appears in the customer's message box, ready to send. They can still edit it first, so it works best as a friendly opener like "Hi, I'd like to order…".
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
