A website is for people who have not met you yet. An app is for the work that happens after. If two or more of these are true, a website will not do the job:

Every record is protected at the database itself, not just in the screens — the rule that says “you can only see your own rows” is enforced where the data lives, so a bug in the interface cannot expose somebody else's information.

Where they are the better choice
Said plainly, because it is true:
- You want to build it yourself and keep iterating daily. A subscription to Lovable or Replit is the right tool, and cheaper than paying anyone.
- You are technical. You will move faster on a platform built for developers than by briefing us.
- Your app is genuinely large — dozens of tables, complex workflows, an ERP. We are built for focused business apps, not enterprise systems.

How is this different from the website builder?
The builder makes a website — pages customers read, and a form that emails you. An app stores things and knows who is who: staff log in, records are saved, and each account only sees its own data. That needs a database and authentication, which a website does not have.
Do I have to set anything up myself?
No. That is the point of this tier. We create the database, connect the logins and payments, deploy it, and hand you a working app with the keys. You never open a terminal.
What does it cost?

Do I own the code?
Yes, exactly as with our websites. You get the full source and can host it anywhere or hand it to any developer. Nothing is locked to us.
How long does it take?
Most straightforward apps are ready within a week of agreeing what they do. The build itself is fast; the honest time goes into getting the details of your business right.
What can it not do?
We do not publish to the App Store or Google Play — everything runs in a browser, including on phones. We are also not the right choice for a large ERP or anything needing dozens of interconnected tables. If that is you, we will say so.
