The bit most guides bury
Meta used to give you 1,000 free service conversations a month and charge after that. That cap was removed on 1 November 2024. Conversations your customer starts — someone asking your price, your timings, whether you are open — are now free, with no monthly limit.
What Meta does charge for is template messages you send out: marketing, utility and authentication. Since 1 July 2025 those are billed per delivered message rather than per 24-hour conversation.

So what are you actually paying for?
Software. The dashboard, the automation builder, the team inbox, the analytics — that is what a ₹1,500 or ₹9,999 monthly plan buys. It is a real product and for some businesses it is worth every rupee. But it is worth knowing that none of it is a WhatsApp fee, because the pricing pages rarely separate the two.
